Mastering the Mysteries of Love (MML)
MML is based on the Relationship Enhancement (RE) program. MML is effective with couples of any class or culture and at any stage of the relationship or marriage. Couples learn 10 skills in how to develop affection and communication, and how to solve conflict and problems so that both partners can be satisfied with the results.

The Relationship Enhancement (RE) Program
The Relationship Enhancement® (RE) Program helps couples to give each other the Gift of Love by learning skills which make love comfortable, generous, healing, and joyful. Founded on values of honesty and compassion, RE enables each partner to fully express what is most important and use that expression to resolve conflict and build love. It consists of training in 9 relationship skills that enable couples to:
1. Speak in ways that will help your partner want to cooperate
2. Express understanding in ways that help each other communicate from your deepest, best selves.
3. Discuss issues and conflicts in ways that lead to solutions you both can feel good about
4. Find and express the positives that are part of every conflict
5. Use conflict to grow closer
6. Work out the details of agreements so issues resolved today are lived out tomorrow and next month
7. Use skills to transform over time both your couple relationship and your relationships with children, co-workers, and friends.
The Relationship Enhancement® Program is for all couples - those who simply want to make their relationship better as well as those who are experiencing difficulties.
The RE Program is provided at no charge at Family Resource Centers (FRCs) throughout Orange County through a federal grant from the Children's Bureau to the Orange County Social Services Agency. The format for the program at the FRC's is a full-day Saturday session followed by four evening sessions, one night a week for four nights. Childcare is available if arrangements are made in advance. Retrouvaille - A Lifeline for Married Couples.
Retrouvaille is a program designed to help couples heal and renew their own Marriage Relationship. The word Retrouvaille, simply means 'rediscovery'. The program offers the chance to rediscover yourself, your spouse, and a loving relationship in your marriage. The program is for married couples who are:
Anxious about their marriage relationship;Alone or distant from their partner;Disillusioned or bored in their marriage;Without the time or desire to communicate;Experiencing coldness or conflict;Frustrated, hurt or angry with their partnerUnable to see how to change their situation.The program can help couples who decide to do something positive about their marriage as they try to work at rediscovering each other in a new and positive way. It is for couples who finally realize that their pain and problems in their relationship will not ease unless they are willing to work at it themselves.
If your marriage needs re-focusing, please call us. Help is available. If you and your spouse want your marriage to work and are willing to put in your best effort - then we invite you, even urge you, to attend. If you are thinking of separation or divorce or you are already separated, but want to try again - then we believe Retrouvaille can help. If you know of a couple who might need help, please tell them about Retrouvaille and encourage them to contact us. They are probably desperately looking for help and don't know where to turn to find it. Although Retrouvaille is a Catholic program, couples of other faith expressions are fully welcomed. However, as it is designed to help marriages, we do not recommend it to those who are unmarried and have chosen to 'live together'.
About the Program - Retrouvaille is a live-in weekend and post weekend program for married couples. The emphasis is on a new technique of communication between a husband and wife. During the weekend, a series of in-depth presentations are given to you and other couples like yourselves. Each presentation, given by one of three married couples and a priest, focuses on a specific area of a marriage relationship. After each presentation, you will have a chance to reflect on it by yourself, then discuss it with your spouse in complete privacy. The weekend is not a spiritual retreat, not a sensitivity group, not a seminar, nor is it a social gathering. You will, however be encouraged, to put the past behind you and start 'rediscovering' one another again. The weekend is not a 'miracle cure', therefore, post-weekend sessions have been designed to continue the marriage renewal begun on the weekend. These follow-ups review earlier concepts in greater depth, present new ones and help you apply these concepts to your own marriage.
There is no set price for the course. Towards the end of the weekend you will have an opportunity to make a donation to cover the cost of the weekend, if you are able to do so. However, nobody is turned away from the weekend because of inability to pay. There is a small registration fee required to hold your spot for the weekend; contact the people indicated on the previous page to find out more information.
